Have you ever noticed how much energy it takes to hold on to something God wants you to give up?  Because you are in disobedience, you end up in so much turmoil and you remain miserable all the time.  We must be quick to throw off and give up anything that will hinder or entangle us.  Once you are able to do this as a believer, you find that your hardest days become your easiest.
 
What areas hinder us the most in our walk with God?  What "webs" easily entangle us?
 

1. Position:  When we have a position of power or influence, we tend to think we placed ourselves there.  There is the tendency to want to settle like concrete in that place of power.  Until you find your security, identity and contentment in Him, this will trip you up all the time.

 

2. Plans:  It is good to plan, but be ready for God to rearrange things and take you along paths that are uncomfortable and unknown.  Ask father Abraham about that!

 

3. Relationships:  We have a tendency to want to hold on, even when God is saying, "Give it up".  Nothing on earth is permanent, including relationships.  Enjoy the time you have and avoid the temptation to cling.

 

4. Anxieties:  If your emotions are wrapped around some issue, you are not fully relying on God.  This hindering emotion of anxiety is one we all have to fight almost daily.

 
This week take an honest look at your life.  Identify those areas that are hindering or entangling you.  Ask God for help and start giving serious attention to some things.  Some rearranging may be called for but be ready to take a "trash bag" and throw some things away if need be.
