The bible tells us clearly how we must lIve unselfish lives. The summary of Luke 6:31-35 is simply this: Love, expecting nothing in return. Give, though they will never say thanks. Forgive, even though they continue to persecute you. Invest everything in the things of God even though nobody notices. Paul calls this "the high calling" (Philippians 3:14).
 
If you think some people are naturally more able to love than others, think again. Love is a choice...one that costs so much! Love will cost you your time, your money and your preoccupation with self. Loving means you make others a priority before yourself...that is very hard...but we must do it!
 
I challenge you to find someone who is feeling hopeless, hurting and discouraged. We have them all around us. Focus your attention on that person. Give of yourself, your time and your resources. Call them at least once a week and let them know you are there for them. Encourage them and lift them up. Keep doing this until they are restored. And do it without broadcasting it to the world and do it without expecting anything back.  That's unselfish living!
