What happens when you have questions that are difficult, if not impossible to answer? A child is born with debilitating disease, or is killed in a tragic accident. A husband or wife commits suicide. Divorce strikes your happy home. Cancer takes a young mother or father. Financial ruin devastates you...the list can go on and on.
 
At such times we speculate about details, searching for clues that might make some sense and make it easier for us to bear. We often wonder what could or should have been done differently that might have prevented this. We turn to friends and fellow believers only to hear religious statements or comments that are inadequate to minimize our pain. When the heavens are silent what do you do?
 
Remember this: "The secret things belong to the Lord." Our finite minds cannot fully understand the finite aspects of God. We have our territory and God has His...and ours is limited to only that which He chooses to reveal. The only thing we can do is "trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding..." (Proverbs 3:5).
 
It will never make sense and you will never understand, but trust God! He has a plan and He's working it out.
