"But their eyes were held, so that they did not recognize Him. (Luke 24:16)
When everything around you is chaotic and unsettled, it's easy to lose perspective. It happened to the two disciples of Jesus on the Emmaus road. They were discouraged and feeling so sad. The one they had placed all their hopes in...the one who was going to deliver them from all their troubles...he was gone. Oh they had so many unanswered questions. As they were going over all these things that had happened and in the middle of their questions Jesus came up and walked along with them. But they were not able to recognize who He was. (Luke 24:15-16) Often when we are facing troubles, our vision becomes blurred and we often shut out the very one who can help us...just like the disciples did. He was right there walking with them and talking to them. Everything changed the minute they recognized Him! Within the hour they were back on track...on their way to Jerusalem. There they told the others how Jesus had appeared to them. In an instant they went from fear to courage, pain to joy, and despair to hope. That's the story of Easter. No matter how bad things may appear to be, when you recognize Him...walking alongside with you, you will be filled with hope...and then you can go spread that hope to others! So I pray today that your eyes be open and that you recognize Him.
Stay above...always.
Yours & His,
