My servant Caleb has a different spirit in him and has followed me fully. (Numbers 14:24)
Caleb was a man with a great attitude! He not only went against the crowd and popular opinion but also followed God wholeheartedly. Caleb never doubted God for a minute. He knew the track record of God and had seen God perform mighty acts among the Israelites as they were delivered from Egypt. He was confident that God could not fail His people.
When it was time to fight for the promised land, hear this: "Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once and possess it; for we are well able to overcome" (Numbers 13:30). What an attitude! However the people would not heed the advice and their negative attitude and complaining kept them in the wilderness...for 40 years!
Doubt, unbelief, grumbling and complaining will always leave you in the wilderness...a place of persistent dryness and barrenness. Your attitude will determine how far and how high you can go. Caleb had a positive attitude and look at the results: "Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb..." (Joshua 14:13).
