REMAIN ON THE BATTLEFIELD
At the time when kings go out to battle...David remained at Jerusalem. (2 Samuel 11:1)
David got into trouble and fell into sin with Bathsheba when he remained at Jerusalem instead of going out to battle. When he stopped fighting...when he remained at ease in his palace in Jerusalem, he suffered his greatest defeat. Before it was over, David had not only committed adultery, but he had murdered an innocent man and lost the child born in his sin.
Today ask yourself, "Am I out in battle or have I remained in Jerusalem when other kings are out fighting." When you give Satan an inch he will take a mile. You lose ground when you leave your post and keep your sword down. When you retreat in your devotion to God and begin to get lukewarm, you are asking for trouble. Read the parts of the armor in Ephesians 6 and you will discover there in no part of the armor for the back. This is because God never intended for us to turn our backs to Satan and his demons.
Today, you need to set a goal so great and so noble, that you would not dare to endanger it by laying down your sword and leaving the battlefield!
Stay above...always.
