WHAT DECISIONS ARE YOU MAKING?
"God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob"... (various Biblical references).
The above statement is found in several places in the Bible and we have used the same scripture at times in prayer. At first glance the above statement has nothing to it, but God gave me a revelation of this scripture a few years ago that really impacted my life. Do you realize that scripture should have read, "God of Abraham, Isaac and Esau"? Enticed by the pot of stew which Jacob had cooked, Esau could not deny himself, but must at once gratify his appetite. Impulsively he snatched an immediate and sensual gratification at the forfeit of a future glory. He made a decision to sell his birthright for a pot of stew. By so doing, he lost the headship of the people through whom God's redemptive purpose was to be wrought out in the world. Esau's name was erased from the same lineage that is used today to describe God. Most of us would never think about making the same kind of bargain Esau made...would we? Perhaps not with physical stuff, but what about our spiritual inheritance? What decisions are you making? Are they of a sensual, fleshly nature or of a spiritual, eternal value. You be the judge of that. But, be aware that your decisions do impact many lives...yours, your family, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and generations to come!.
