ARE YOU A WATER WALKER?

'...Peter...walked on the water...' Matthew 14:29

Angela Okotie-Eboh, Founder & President
Here are some things you need to know about water walking:

1) Everybody has a boat.
Your boat is whatever gives you your greatest sense of significance and security. It is what you are tempted to put your trust in, especially when life gets stormy. Want to know what your boat is? Your fear will tell you. Ask yourself, "What is it that most produces fear in me - especially when I think of leaving it behind and stepping out in faith?"

2) Remaining in the boat or stepping out ....both are risky!
If you remain in the boat you could capsize and lose it all. If you step out you could drown! Your decision to remain or step out will be determined by who you are listening to.

3) You will be afraid.
You will experience fear. Give up trying to make fear go away! Fear and growth go together; it is a package deal. The decision to grow means choosing between risk and comfort. Each time you get out of the boat you become a little more able to get out the next time. It is not that the fear goes away, you just get better at overcoming it. You realize that it doesn't have the power to hold you back or destroy you. On the other hand, every time you choose to stay in the boat rather than heed the call of Christ to "Come", the voice inside you gets a little quieter, until finally you do not hear it at all.

3) You must keep your eyes on the Savior, not the wind.
We all know what it is like to see the wind, do we not? You begin a new adventure full of hope. Maybe it is a job, a new relationship, a new ministry or a new business. At the beginning you are full of faith. Everything seems wonderful, your energy and optimism is boundless and you are ready to take on anything! THEN, all of a sudden you are surrounded by setbacks, opposition and challenges. That's the wind! But don't look at the wind, look at His word.

4) If you don't step out you will always wonder,"what if".
If you live in the boat you will eventually die in the boat; and you will end up wondering what your life might have been if only you would been willing to step over the side.

5) If you don't step out you will never know the joy of water-walking.
Success never comes to those who remain in the boat. Their influence is never felt, their names are never known and they never achieve their full potential.

Step out of your boat!

Stay above...
always.

Yours & His,
 Angela
