School Climate Survey
Today, GSA for Safe Schools is launching the 2009 Wisconsin School Climate Survey. Modeled off of the GLSEN National School Climate Survey, this questionnaire will help collect important information about the experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning students and their straight allies in Wisconsin middle schools and high schools. The survey can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/wischoolclimatesurvey09 Please share this link with any middle school- or high school-aged youth you work with who may be interested in sharing their experiences with us. The questions ask the students about their experiences with hearing anti-LGBT and other biased language in school, incidents of harassment or bullying they have faced, and where they find support (or lack of support) for their identity as an LGBTQ young person or as an ally to LGBTQ people. The survey should take between 20 and 30 minutes to complete. This survey is anonymous, and the information gathered will help GSA for Safe Schools and other organizations (like you!) educate policy makers, educators, and the public on issues facing LGBTQA students and better advocate for their interests on state and local levels. | |
