People who have seen the impact of our programs in the community have been generous in their giving. We're confident that those who are just learning about us will be excited to support the work that makes our community a safer place for our GLBT citizens. Our challenge with this matching grant project is to generate new donors and new or increased contributions to our GLBT Services.  Right now we still have over $4,500 remaining in the match that needs to be raised by the end of the year. We are asking you to join us in our efforts to raise funds for us to continue our programs:

• GLBT Partnership: our youth development and support group for youth ages 14-18 who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, are questioning their orientation or their allies. This program has been providing services in the Valley for 12 years. Last year this program served 184 young people. Already this year, the program has served 150!
• GSA Network: The goal of the Northeast Wisconsin GSA Network will be to create and maintain clear channels of communication among GSA advisors and students while providing them with relevant GLBT education tools and support.  A local GSA Conference is being planned for October 17th, 2009.
• Harmony Caf�'s safe space: A safe space for all to gather and relax enforced by our Check It At the Door Declaration (www.harmonycafe.org).

Funding also helps us provide these volunteer-led initiatives

• Spectrum : Weekly social and networking for adults. Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, allies. Many ages, one bond.
• Valued Families: Valued Families promotes family equality for Fox Valley LGBT parents and their families by providing social networking, education, community outreach and advocacy to increase recognition and respect for LGBT families in our community.
  

We welcome any contribution you can make. In these tight economic times it is difficult to give, or to go above and beyond. But the youth of our community are still in dire need of our programs to continue and they really need to see that adults in our community care about continuing this support - perhaps support they wished they'd had.  Please think it over.
