A FEW WORDS FROM GARY

Dear friends,

"These Holidays"

Merry Christmas everyone! Tis the season to be ________.  You fill in the blank.
This is my 40th year in holiday retail. Our customers seem to be in the spirit of the season this year and not as "tense" as previous years. It seems that a lot of you are more comfortable entertaining in your homes this year versus previous years, probably because we've noticed that customers are asking a lot more questions about different products that would enhance their libation experience.

This is also the time of year for political correctness.  When you are the owner of a small business, you don't have to be as politically correct as a major corporation, but I feel like we've gotten away from the meaning of the words Merry Christmas when we worry too  much about who we're talking to. When you are shopping for wine beer or spirits at my store this time of year, you are probably celebrating something. Maybe you're celebrating Christ's birth, or maybe you're celebrating the Festival of Lights. Perhaps you celebrate the coming Solstice or the Airing of Grievances that occurs during Festivus. We're happy to help with WHATEVER celebration you're planning (just a reminder - Champagne is ALWAYS a good thing to have on hand - should an unplanned celebration arise - and we've got LOTS of exciting Chanpagne to show you!) There are too many options and too many customers rushing to their celebrations for us to ask each you what you're celebrating, so Merry Christmas seems to sum it all up nicely.
Here at Lukas Liquor, "Merry Christmas" is a state of mind, not an expression of a particular belief.  I love wishing people a "Merry Christmas."  My employees have no guideline or policy they have to follow.  To me, this is the time of year that we should all give to the needy, express our caring feelings towards each other, worship and be happy.

I can think of no better way to express this time of year than to wish everyone Merry Christmas.

So.....Merry Christmas to all,

Perennial Artisan Ales

Perennial is THE MOST EXCITING brewery to open in St. Louis this year. With the exception of two year-round 'staples' EVERYTHING they brew is special because it's all only available for a limited time. Last weekend, we took home a bottle of their (just-released) Peace Offering, a beer brewed with squash that had been roasted with maple syrup. We drank it with roasted sweet potatoes and a delicious seared steak. You should do that, too.

SATURDAY LINEUP

-IN THE TASTING ROOM-

Ryan P. - Classique Wines & Spirits

Ryan is one of our hardest-working sales reps. His time in the tasting room during these busy hoiday times is a result of him giving up his Saturdays in January, February, March, April etc. Ryan has been here on Saturday over 15 times this year, so we are rewarding him with an opportunity to sell wine on one of the busiest weekends of the year.

Trust us. Ryan has good wines - if he didn't, he wouldn't have been in the tasting room eleven other times this year. One wine he'll show is The Ned Pinot Gris. It's Claire's favorite white wine! Another product he'll show is Boyd & Blair Vodka. Yes, a vodka will finish this wine tasting, but this vodka was just voted "Best Vodka in the World!"

Please come by and thank Ryan for his hard work this year by buying your favorite bottle from his tasting.

We really do appreciate your business and we look forward to giving you another great experience soon!

Sincerely,
The Lukas Liquor Superstore Staff
