LUKAS GOES GREEN

Last week, we completed the second phase of our energy saving upgrades. Sound like a big deal? Well, it is.
Previously, we installed cooler-door defrosters that operate intermittently, rather that full-time. You'd only be aware of a cooler-door defroster if it wasn't working, but they heat the space between the glass on cooler doors to keep them fog-free. With no difference in appearance, we made our 31-door cooler MUCH more energy efficient.
Recently, we finished our store wide conversion to smaller-diameter bulbs with a much higher light output, but each light ballast uses 50% LESS electricity than our old system. In a 24,000 square foot building this means huge savings! As a bonus, the flickering yellow bulbs we used to have are GONE and now, our store's lighting is a pleasant soft white color!

A QUICK WORD ABOUT KEGS...

Amazing.
That's how you'll describe the process of buying a keg at Lukas. Because state law requires every keg to be 'registered' to an individual at the time of purchase, many retailers shy away from this service altogether. At Lukas, we make sure the entire process moves smoothly and quickly.
Simply present your license to one of our cashiers and while they fill out your paperwork, another cashier will retrieve your keg. Didn't order a keg ahead of time? No worries! We keep plenty of beer in stock, and on holiday weekends, we order HEAVY to make sure you have an assortment of draft beers to choose from. Consult the dry-erase board at the front of the store for our in-stock kegs. Though, if there is a particular beer you want to have, it's best to order it by Thursday @ 4:00 for the coming weekend. |
