Hard to believe, but it's time, once again, for The Amazing Taste! Lukas Liquor Superstore is proud to host this event for the 4th year, but we need your help!
If you haven't participated in this event in years past, let me briefly explain what The Amazing Taste is...
The Amazing Taste is a charity event which benefits Angels' Arms, a local St. Louis charity which strives to provide a loving home to children, especially sibling groups, in foster care. From the Angels' Arms website...
"Although in existence only since 2000, Angels' Arms has changed the lives of more than 200 children, including over 50 sibling groups, by providing them with a loving home and allowing them to thrive in a happy, functional family setting.
Children entering an Angels' Arms' home are met with acceptance and love and immediately learn about their role in their new family. So many foster children don't know how a family works or what it means to be a family member. But the house parents quickly involve all foster children in activities such as chores, extra-curricular activities, homework, eating together as a family, peaceful problem solving, sharing, and more.
Simply put, every child who enters an Angels' Arms' home is welcomed with open arms and gets to experience the joy of being a part of a family.
Founder and Executive Director, Bess Wilfong, rallied support from fellow foster parents, friends, family and educators, and Angels' Arms was founded as a grassroots organization in 2000. After much research, paperwork, and fund raising, Angels' Arms purchased its inaugural home in South County early 2003. After hundreds of volunteers performed months of extensive renovations, the house parents and seven foster children (2 sibling groups) moved in on November 1, 2003. In October 2005, Angels' Arms purchased a second home in Ballwin. A third home was purchased in September 2006, by Angels' Arms in Ferguson, followed by a fourth home in August 2007, in Florissant. Our newest home in Ballwin was opened to foster children in November, 2008."
2010 will mark Lukas' 4th year of involvement with Angels' Arms. Several things have changed since last year. If you participated in any of the previous events, please make a not of these changes:
This year, due to the sheer size of the event (we anticipate over 1000 guests) and our desire to provide a more upscale environment for our guests, The Amazing Taste will be held at the Wildwood Town Center (outdoors).
Event Date: Sunday, September 19, 2010Location: City of Wildwood Town Center (outside)Time: 1:00 pm. - 5:00 pm.Vendor Full Table Fee: $250.00 (Up to 12 SKUs of Wine, Beer or Spirits)Vendor Half Table Fee: $125.00 (Up to 6 SKUs of Wine, Beer or Spirits)Supplier Samples: 100% (generally 3 to 4 bottles of wine per SKU, 2 bottles of liquor per SKU)
100 Reserve tickets available to customers (this is a first for The Amazing Taste). Reserve Tickets are only available at Lukas Liquor Superstore (not the Angels' Arms website). Similar to the Schnucks Food & Wine Experience, this is a more expensive ticket option ($40 vs. $25) which allows guests to taste "Reserve" products where available. Guests who purchase a "Reserve" ticket will receive a specially wristband and a Riedel glass. If you would like one (or more) of your products designated as a "Reserve" item, please make a note on your list of samples.

The Amazing Taste is Angels' Arms' 4th largest event, and it's most profitable. We at Lukas Liquor Superstore are very proud of that... However, since the event won't be held behind our store this year, we're going a bit further to encourage even more customers to purchase products they taste at the event.
In addition to donating 5% of our sales generated by (pre-sales from) the event to Angels' Arms, we are also offering special event-only pricing to our customers representing a significantly discounted retail price.
This is always a difficult event to plan, but this year it's a bit more challenging since I'm doing much of it myself (Kaitlyn and Hannah are out on medical leave). I truly do appreciate that this is a lot to ask of our vendors, but you have come through for us in years past - please feel free to contact me directly by either calling the store or my cell phone.
