School has started, the weather is cooling off, and I am seeing Join Scouting Lawn Signs everywhere I go! All of these things mean it's time to start a new Scouting year!
Here at the Council Office we are excited to start a new Fall Season. We will help support your units by providing numerous fun activities for Scouts of all levels. You can keep in touch with all of these activities though this twice-monthly newsletter, our website, Facebook and monthly Roundtable Meetings. If you have new families in your Pack or Troop be sure to share this newsletter with them and encourage them to subscribe.
We know that Scouting changes lives. This Fall we will recruit thousands of new boys and families into our Scouting programs. I know that all of you will be welcoming them into excellent units and will be providing them with an outstanding program.

Fall Events for Cub Scouts
Numerous events in September/October |
Boys join Scouting for the outdoor program. We believe, and research shows, that is critical to deliver on the outdoor promise of Scouting with a few weeks of joining.
To serve that need we provide numerous FREE events for Cub Scouts in the Fall. Our big event is Scouting's Family Fun Day on October 6th, followed by a number of other Family Fun Days spread throughout the Council.

Fall Boy Scout Camporees Numerous Dates |

This Fall we will be offering 2 "traditional" Boy Scout Camporees on October 19-21. Yawgoog will host a Fire Safety Merit Badge Camporee and Cachalot will host a Civil War Theme Camporee.
Also, back for it's fourth year is the ever-popular Emergency Preparedness Weekend at Yawgoog. We are looking for host Troops for our Webelos-o-ree in September. We will also be hosting overnighters at Mystic Seaport and the USS Salem. Whatever your interest we are sure to have a Camporee for you!
