The youth ministry of Trinity Presbyterian Church seeks to nurture youth and their families, to engage their hearts and minds, and to equip them for a lifelong faith that embodies God's transforming love through Jesus Christ.

Please pay close attention to the information about the Youth Auction & Benefit and make sure you turn in your donation forms and sign up to help sell tickets after both worship services. Please see below!

 

Don't forget there is a  Parent Information Meeting about the Tip of the Iceberg Retreat this Sunday night starting at 6:00pm. More information is available below.

Youth Auction and Benefit

 

The Trinity Youth Auction and Benefit will be held Saturday, February 25.

 Your help is needed in several areas to make this Benefit a successful event in February:

  

1 - Please turn in your donation forms as soon as possible, especially youth. Attached is the donation form that you can drop off at John's office.

2 -  Auction items can be dropped off at John Ryan's office.

 

3 - We need families (youth and their parents) to sign up to work selling auction tickets after both the 8:45 a.m. and the 11:00 a.m. services. Tickets will go on sale January 8th through February 19th. Events To Look Forward To...

 

Common Grounds Bible Study Wednesday mornings at 6:45am. Come meet John at Caribou Coffe on Northside Drive for coffee (or hot chocolate) and discussion. This bible study will meet every week during the school year. We'll see you again on January 4, 2012! 

 

Parents Tip of the Iceberg Retreat Information Meeting: January 8th at 6:00pm. If you would like to receive more information on the Tip of the Iceberg Retreat in February (10th-12th), then you will want to make sure you have this date on your calendar and be present for this informative meeting. We will discuss how the leadership of the retreat will explore spirituality and sexuality and start building the tools necessary for you to continues this conversation with child(ren) at home.   

 

Faith in 3D Parent/Participant Meeting will be held in the Youth Lounge following 11:00 a.m. morning worship and the congregational meeting on January 8, 2012. 

 

Parents and Youth: Mission Night: January 22nd at 6:00pm - parents you are invited to come with your child(ren) to PYC to share a meal and work together on a mission project that will make a difference in the community. We will be working with Stop Hunger Now. Check out the link to learn more about this organization  Stop Hunger Now

 

6:00pm - Dinner in Williams Hall - Chicken Sandwiches, Mac and Cheese, Salad and Dessert.

6:30pm - Package Meals in the Play Place

Saturday Morning Mission - January 29th at Medshare. Meet us at the church at 8:30am and come to Medshare with us to help sort Medical Supplies that will be sent to countries all over the world.

PYC News

 

6:00pm - Dinner in Williams Hall. We will have pizza, fruit and dessert. Don't forget your $5.00.

 

6:30pm - Games in Williams Hall and the Play Place. Junior and Senior High Youth will start out the new year with a fun night of games.

Junior High will be in the Play Place and Senior High Youth will be in Williams Hall. Come enjoy some pizza, catch up with everyone after a long break and have fun playing games. It's a new year so make a new commitment to be present at both church school and PYC!

 

7:30pm - Pick-up Time. Have a great week at school. 

 

Church School News

 

Come hang out with us in the Youth Lounge Sunday morning. There will be hot chocolate and doughnuts, provided by the Kelley family (thank you!) for you to enjoy.

Girlfriend theology is an invaluable contribution to reclaiming the voices of one of the most silenced groups in our society, the teenage girl.

 

Inside the Man Cave (Senior High Boys)

A man cave, sometimes called a mantuary or manspace, is a male sanctuary where "guys can do as they please". It is important for a man  to have a place to call his own, referring to a male area to which to retreat. Come explore faith issues from a male viewpoint.

Discovering Opportunities for Outreach and Reflection (DOOR) is a faith based network of urban service-learning programs that expose, educate, challenge, and motivate participants to respond to the issues and concerns facing an increasingly urban world. Deposits are due by January 3, 2012.

 

Washington DC

 

Junior High Mission Trip, Washington DC                        

July 14-21, 2012

Cost: $515.00, deposit $250.00

Spend a week in the nation's capital volunteering for those in need with the organization Pilgrimage.  Deposits are due by January 3, 2012.
