Speakers
Dee W. Edington, PhD is director of the University of Michigan Health Management Research Center as well as a Professor in the Division of Kinesiology and a research scientist in the School of Public Health. Dr. Edington's teaching and research focus on the relationship between healthy lifestyles, vitality and quality of life, as they benefit both individuals and organizations. Jake Glover serves as the Director of Health and Wellness Initiatives for America's Health Insurance Plans. He has years of experience in developing and implementing federally funded community health initiatives, including the Grundy Center Iowa Polar Scholar Program, which is garnering national attention for its role in the dramatic turnaround in childhood obesity outcomes.
Kathleen Herath RN, BSN CRRN oversees the Health and Productivity Strategy at Nationwide for the company's 33,000 associates. The company's integrated health and productivity program includes: health screenings, wellness programs, disability and disease management, health education, work life resources, walking programs, and occupational health clinics. Leah Binder is Chief Executive Officer of the Leapfrog Group, a national organization based in Washington, DC, representing employer purchasers of healthcare demanding improvements in the safety of the nation's hospitals. In 2009, Leah was ranked #28 among Modern Healthcare's 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare. Francois de Brantes is the CEO for Bridges to Excellence (BTE), a national program focused on rewarding physicians for better quality care. He is also the National Coordinator for Prometheus Payment Inc., responsible for coordinating the implementation of the program, from data modeling of the Evidence-informed Case Rates to the operationalization of pilot sites.
