Consignment Information
Consignments will be taken during the following months:
January-May Spring/Summer clothing
July-November Fall/Winter clothing
*Please note that The Growing Tree is open year-round but consignments are only taken during the months noted above.
Consignments are done by appointment only. Up to thirty (30) items per appointment may be consigned with The Growing Tree. We take children's clothing from infant up to size 8 and women's clothing, all sizes. All clothing should be brought in on hangers (get them from us), in good-to-excellent condition, wrinkle-free, clean without holes or stains, odor-free, free of lint and pet hair, in style, and in season. Items that look better, sell better. Souvenir shirts will not be accepted.
Items brought in will be evaluated by Growing Tree personnel and the consignor, an asking price for each item will be mutually agreed upon, and items will be placed in our database and tagged for sale. The appointment should take about 30 minutes. Consignors will receive a computer print-out of the items left with The Growing Tree, along with asking price for each item and contract end date before leaving the store.
The Growing Tree reserves the right to sell your items at a discounted price, however, items consigned will not be reduced more than 20% over the 60 day consignment period.
We will try our best to sell all of your items, however unsold items must be picked up by the Saturday following the last day of your consignment period as noted on the contract. ALL ITEMS NOT PICKED UP BY THE SATURDAY FOLLOWING THE FINAL CONSIGNMENT DATE BECOME THE PROPERTY OF THE GROWING TREE. The Growing Tree WILL NOT notify consignors that they have items to pick up.
All consignors will receive 50% of the selling price of items sold during the approximately 60-day consignment period. You will receive a check for your earnings (less any store credit used for purchases at The Growing Tree) from each consignment appointment. Your check will be mailed within 10-14 days from the end of the consignment period. A consignment fee of 10 cents per item will be deducted from each check to cover processing costs.
Under no circumstances will The Growing Tree be liable for damage or loss caused by robbery, theft, fire, water, moths or any cause of the same or different nature. All articles are left with the consignee at the sole risk of the consignor.
