The generosity of artists, agencies, businesses and individuals continue to allow us to help find families for Alabama's waiting children.  We are already preparing for FFF 3.

Meet Jazmine

DeWayne
Jazmine was born in May 1992. Jazmine is in the 10th grade.  Her favorite subject in school is Math. She has also sang in the choir and played the clarinet in the band. In her spare time, Jazmine likes to read. She also enjoys shopping at the mall and taking pictures. Jazmine would like to be a missionary when she grows up. One of her three wishes would be to own a Mini Cooper.

Jazmine has two younger brothers, but they are not placed together. However, she would like to be able to maintain contact with them. Jazmine is still socially and emotionally immature for her age. She has a hard time expressing herself and maintaining appropriate relationships with her peers. Therefore, she will need a family that will be able to meet her educational and emotional needs. The family will also need to have structure, stability, and patience.

Meet Joshua & Timothy
DeWayne

Photographed by: Bryan Johnson
Joshua, born January, 1995, is a handsome and active young man. Josh has a tender heart and is very loving and giving, though he often tries to show his "tough side". He is very loyal and protective of those he loves. Josh loves all sports, especially basketball and football, and he wants to be a professional football and basketball player when he gets older "to be like Bo Jackson". He is very interested in many extracurricular activities, especially if he gets to spend his time outdoors. Josh sometimes needs some extra help in school, particularly in reading and math and receives that help through special education services. He sometimes has difficulty comprehending conversations; he is able to make himself understood but does not always understand others. Joshua has a very independent streak in him as he wants to make all his own decisions as most teenagers do; however, he needs someone to keep him grounded.

Timothy, born in April 1996, is a handsome and bright young man. He is very polite and has a friendly outgoing and bubbly personality. He likes football and swimming, and he enjoys horses. Tim is also an avid reader and likes to spend much of his time indoors. Timothy is a very energetic child and needs encouragement to curb his impulsivity. Tim usually does pretty well academically in school; he reports he wants to be some type of engineer when he grows up.

Joshua and Timothy attend church regularly with their foster parents. In church, Joshua plays the drums and Timothy is an usher; they both used to be praise dancers. Josh and Tim would need to be in a two-parent home with the energy needed to keep up with two energetic, growing boys, as well as provide them with the consistency and firm structure they need to be successful.

Meet Kendrell

Kendrell born January 1994 is a very handsome young man. He has a great smile and a charming personality He has always done well academically, however, as with many teenagers, he has to be prompted at times to complete homework assignments. Kendrell's favorite sports are football, baseball and basketball but he also has a passion for playing in the band. He has played the drums in a high school marching band and likes doing this.

He can be very shy at times and somewhat quiet, but is very easy to talk with. It takes a while for him to truly open up and trust new people. He has experienced a great deal of loss in his life. Kendrell has attended counseling to help him deal with issues surrounding loss and his past abuse. He has progressed very well through therapy and has really been able to address the issues and deal with them appropriately.

Kendrell needs an adoptive family who will give him praise, attention and a lot of structure while helping him see how positive life can be. Kendrell has a lot of potential to be very successful in his life and with positive encouragement and dedication, he will achieve great things. He needs positive role models who will offer him love and kindness. His adoptive family should also be patient and understanding and able to set appropriate limits.
