Dear Friend,
Yesterday, President Obama reminded us that, "Teddy Roosevelt knew it was right. Harry Truman knew it was right. Ted Kennedy knew it was right." This week 60 organizations of women religious representing 59,000 nuns across our country said it was right.
A new study published in the New England Journal of Medicine this week, authored by Catholic Democrats President Patrick Whelan, showed us that it was right - finding that when health insurance coverage increased under Massachusetts' universal health care system, abortion decreased.
We have about 32 hours left before the House votes on the Senate health care reform legislation to make it right.
If you know that it is right, can you take 10 minutes and join us to help make this essential Catholic social priority a right for the millions and millions of people who don't have it, and for the economic well-being of our country?
Here is what you can do if you have not already:
● Sign A Lenten Intention to pass health care reform and contact your congressional representative;
● Pray for those who do not have health care;
● Pray for the passage of the health care reform;
