"...it is Biblical, the tragedy that continues to daunt Haiti and the Haitian people. It is so tragic." - Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, remarks on the Haitian earthquake, January 13, 2010

Dear Friend,
A tragedy of biblical proportions makes the challenges we face seem small in comparison. What little infrastructure Haiti had before the earthquake has been decimated. The limited clean water and food for survival, loss of electricity and communications, and destroyed hospitals are only the beginning of the devastation. There are an estimated 50,000 dead - or more. Catholic Democrats wanted to share with you the prayer below for our brothers and sisters in Haiti. It was offered by Fr. Jean Jadotte, associate pastor of Notre Dame D'Haiti Parish in Miami. Please pray, if only for a minute. Also below are links to three trusted humanitarian agencies providing
aid to our brethren in Haiti who have such dire needs right now.
Please give, if only a dollar.Thank you. In solidarity with our human family, Patrick Whelan MD PhD Suzanne Morse Lisa Schare Steve Krueger

"Lord Hear Our Prayers"
-We are praying for hope despite this situation, that even as we face darkness, people may see a pinpoint of light. -Praying for families. -Pray for a greater conscience among everyone, not just in Haiti but all over, that we must do something [to help]. -Pray for a spirit of thanksgiving for international agencies for their good heart and good faith. -Pray for relief workers to have a spirit of patience and perseverance. -For those who at this time are in search of meaning in their lives and peace.
