Planning ahead for more lavender
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fall is the season we plant our new lavender fields. This year we bought a piece of equipment called a Bed Shaper. It makes long raised beds in the field. That way our lavender doesn't have to stand in overly wet soil in the winter.
This is the Bed Shaper attached to our tractor. The ONLY complaint I have is that it isn't purple - which isn't a complaint at all. Look at the neat row. The wheel on the back marks the row and spacing of the plants. The second picture is the wider view. The row on the left is after the first pass, the next row to the right (where the tractor is) is what it looks like after the second pass. It's smooth on top and we can easily see the markers for each plant. Off on the right you can see Nancy, our newest staff member who loves our plants, is putting plants into the first row that we did. The weather that day was awful, so we didn't quite finish the first row all the way, but hey, there's always tomorrow! Seriously, though, I'm now looking at a new tractor for cultivating - if you have tips for me let me know. It has to have really high clearance and be very narrow, a tall order :)
Getting something SUMMER-Y as the weather turns cold ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Make your laundry smell wonderful, or better yet, put some in your iron to give you pleasure while you are ironing, and have a great scent when you are done.
It's the next best thing to being able to drape your sheets over the lavender bushes - like you do in the summer, right?
This time, the discount code works!!
