About four years ago I heard Bikram on CKNW being interviewed by Bill Good.  Bikram was in Vancouver putting on a 2-day seminar. He sounded very sure of himself and in a no-nonsense way described what his yoga can do for people. My wife and I decided to check it out so we hopped on the ferry and spent two full days at the Pan Pacific doing Bikram Yoga for the first time. Neither of us had done yoga before so it was quite an engaging experience for us. At the time I was maxing out on Robaxacet and Advil because of injuries and over use. To put it bluntly I was getting desperate. We lead a very active life and either I started healing myself, or life as I knew it was over. Both of us were convinced after the two days that we were going to give it go. Of course we were disappointed that they were no studios in our area. My wife started driving down to Victoria when it worked out, or we would do it to best we could to the CD at home.  As soon as Doug opened up we were there and have been going ever since.

I feel like Jared on the Subway commercials. I do not take any medications anymore and for the most part I am getting better all the time. I can't do without. I have turned quite a few people on to Bikram, I guess they figure if it works for me, think of what it would do for normal people. I will never be the best or even good at yoga but it works for me. I always get a kick out of newcomers that do better on their first time than I do in 3 years. I think I could be in the running for the most improved award though.

Thanks to Doug and all the teachers for running such a great studio.
