Old Spice Signature
The Cincinnati office of Landor Associates contacted me when they were redesigning the Old Spice packaging line.
Landor's concept was to use a masculine signature for the Old Spice brand. Through the years, the brand had been rendered in formal script and several iterations of a stylized italic. So, the manly handwriting idea was to be a departure.
What you see at left is a sampling of what I sent to Landor. I was real excited about where this was going, but the folks at Old Spice decided to stay with the script/italic look.
Too bad.
But, I have to admit that I really enjoyed the humor of their TV commercials with the guy on horseback.
