Sometimes a journey takes us back to where we started. Well, almost.
Landor's Cincinnati office asked me to refresh the existing Downy brand. I started by drawing the top study, at left, which was close-in, but with significant changes to each of the letters. The creative team then thought that it would be worth seeing studies that conveyed a younger, more energetic quality. So I created additional studies, making them progressively playful.
After client presentations, they wanted to move forward with my first version, in a more extended form, and with a slight change to the D. "Can do," I said, as I created the clean vector art you see in the bottom rectangle. Now, you can also see it in the laundry aisle of your favorite grocery store.
So, give me a call whether you know exactly what you want, or you want an exploration that will cover your bases.
Aloha, John
