The Currito Project
"Hola", from your lettering guy in Hawaii.
I worked with the fine folks at LPK (Cincinnati) to create the identity for Currito, a restaurant chain whose concept is to push beyond fresh mexican cuisine and typical wraps.
Design projects have a funny way of changing mid-stream. The creative brief for this project suggested that the client wanted an upscale but playful, hand-crafted wordmark. The top three samples are from a much larger first phase presentation. The client hated them. So, I immediately changed course and produced a wide range of typographic studies. Ultimately, everyone was happy with my last design (bottom left).
Aloha, John
