Health Update:
Much Better Than Good, Picking Up the Ball
|
Greetings!,
I hope everything has been well since I last wrote to you.
It is a little over a five weeks since I had the last dose of chemo. I am getting stronger every day and feeling much more human again.
This past week, I had a follow-up appointment with my surgeon. He is a brilliant man and chief of Surgery for the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. He was really happy with my progress and thought I was doing "much better than good." In his opinion, it usually takes the average person one and a half times as long to fully recover from treatment as the time taken to administer it. In my case, with two lots of chemo, radiation and major surgery, that was seven months.
Glory to God (the Great Physician), my surgeon felt that I would be back to normal within seven months instead of the usual 10-11 months! The chemo mostly passes from the body after a month, but the effects in your joints and bones etc take a lot longer to go.
Your faithfulness in prayer and support for us has been a major component in my 'better than good' progress so far. I cannot tell you how grateful I am. God bless you!
The next challenge is to pick up the ball and start running again in ministry after being off the road for the last 8 months.
It may take some time after being out of circulation for a while, however I'm assured by the Lord's word to me, and confirmed by many like you, that there is still so much more to do before my assignment is complete.
Prayer Points: Pray for a total restoration of health and strength over the next 6 months and beyond. Pray for God's provision to increase for this next phase of picking up ministry again. Continue to stand with us as I walk through this to complete victory! We have a way to go yet, but knowing you are there with us is a great comfort.
We appreciate you being with us in prayer and support!
