Health Update: Hear's the Latest!

 Greetings!,
I hope all is well with you.
Many have been asking how I am doing since I got out of hospital three weeks ago.
Well, last week I had follow-up visits with the two surgeons that performed the surgery, and also with my oncologist. All were pleased with my progress.
As a matter of fact, one of the doctors called me the 'poster child' for this procedure! It's nice to know he thought I was doing so well.
However, one of the surgeons was not excited about more chemo, while the other was quite definite about the need for it. My oncologist also thought it was necessary to counteract the possibility of any microscopic cancer that may have escaped to other organs. Especially as the pathology report from the surgery actually revealed one lymph node had been affected, which I had not known previously.
I would be having the same dose as before (two weeks on, one week off and then two more weeks). This will be starting in early July and will take up all that month with August and beyond to recover.
One other complication since I have been home is that I have had several episodes of tachycardia (fast heart rate). Without warning, my heart jumps up to 160-180 beats per minute. This is because the nerves around the heart area were irritated during surgery. It is supposed to get better over time.
When it happens, we have to go up to the ER where they medicate it back to normal. They have assured me it is not life threatening but it sure is a nuisance!
In the meantime, my strength is returning a little more each day and I continue to adjust to the new way of eating.
This last week, I was finally able to answer most of the letters, cards and emails that came in over the last month. These have been a tremendous encouragement. Being used to traveling for ministry on a weekly basis, it has been very difficult just sitting at home for most of this year.
Prayer Points: Pray for increased strength and healing of the nerves around my heart. Also for the grace to bear the next round of chemo.
Originally, we thought this trial would only take a month or two to get through, but it has been six months now and it looks like we have at least another three months before we start to get out of the woods.
