Health Update: Special Prayer Needed Now!
|
Greetings!,
Since I last wrote to you, I have been on a roller-coaster ride with my health! I'm so glad the Lord is a steady Rock that will never be moved! On that we can all depend.
Here's the latest. I recently had the last dose of chemo (hopefully forever) and I finished the radiation last Friday.
Chemo is accumulative so each dose has been worse. It has knocked out my immune system and I have have needed shots to boost my white blood cells. Some days have been relatively good and some downright bad.
Someone asked is it like getting a bad flu...? I replied I would swap that any day! Imagine not just being really tired all the time but completely drained of vitality, physically, emotionally and spiritually. I'm not complaining (well, maybe a little), just sharing what it's like.
So here is the special prayer need. I have just met with the two surgeons who will take out most of my esophagus sometime early to mid May. They will then biopsy that part to see if the cancer is still active. If it is dead, I will not need any more chemo. Yippee!!! If there is any still there, it could mean 4 more months of chemo. I just don't have the grace for that!
The surgeons said that in most cases like this there is still some cancer still alive, so please pray that this thing will be D.E.A.D!!!
On the positive side, I continue to get hundreds of emails, cards and letters.
The shower of love and support from all over the world has been a tremendous encouragement.
Melva continues to be my biggest supporter. She has been as steady as a rock too!
I am deeply grateful for everyone who assured me of their prayers and are sending financial support at this time.
We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and care of the Body of Christ here in America and as far away as Australia and New Zealand. However, it's a long haul to get through this thing but we will continue to trust God all the way.
One time donations are greatly appreciated, however monthly support is crucial to get us through this period so that we will be able to continue our mission.
We appreciate you standing with us in prayer and support!
