Health Update: Tons of Prayer, Nutrition, Biting the Bullet!

 Greetings!
The other day, this scripture was highlighted to me in my devotional time;
"If one part of our body hurts, we hurt all over...." 1 Cor. 12:26
It has been a great help for me to receive so many encouraging responses from all over the world regarding the challenging health issue I now face with esophageal cancer.
The hundreds of cards and emails expressing love and concern have had a powerful impact on my ability to handle this difficult time.
I am deeply grateful to those who assured me of their prayers and also sent financial support to help us get through this trial.
It's one thing to have to deal with this serious health issue, it's another to lose your income for six to eight months!
It is so encouraging to me, even in this serious health issue, to see 1 Cor. 12:26 in action.
Early last week we met with an outstanding nutritionist with over forty years experience who is also a wonderful Christian.
We are now following his regimen which is designed to strengthen my physical endurance for the next six to eight months of chemo, radiation, surgery and recovery.
I begin the chemo and radiation this Thursday, February 19th for five and half weeks. This will mean four hours of chemo every week and radiation five days a week.
After that, there will be a recuperation period of about four to six weeks and then surgery to remove a good part of my esophagus. This will mean a week to ten days in hospital and about six to eight weeks to recover.
Please pray for a complete healing and please support us financially during this time.
