Born in Seville, Spain, Vincente Amigo won a Latin Grammy in 2001 for "Best Flamenco Album". A master of scintillating, seductive guitar melodies, he was only 20 years old when he won first place in a national guitar contest.
His recognition escalated when he participated in a Guitar Legends concert in Spain, alongside such guitar greats as Paco de Lucia, Keith Richards and Bob Dylan. This got his foot in the door to a place among the greatest guitar players of all time.
Backed by numerous other awards, he is widely admired and has played alongside many other well-known musicians, like Sting and Alejandro Sanz. Since the release of his first album in 2001, Vincente Amigo is considered one of the most talented and imaginative Flamenco artists, and crosses the boundaries of traditional Flamenco sounds.

The Bermudian magazine summer 2008 edition is on store shelves, and it has reported that the Salsa Night, run by the BermudaSalsa.com group, held every Friday at the Veranda Bar has won the "Best of Bermuda Gold" Award for the "Best Night out for Dinner and Dancing".
"If you arrive early enough you can even get lessons at the Salsa Night held on Friday at the Veranda Bar (Elbow Beach Hotel, 60 South Shore Road, Paget, 236-3535). Smoking hot rhythms and even hotter couples sizzle up the dance floor, providing viewers with entertainment and inspiration to give salsa a whirl themselves" (page 79)

Mambo Nights Ambassadors Needed!
Interested in having preferred seating at Mambo Nights this August? SalsaMania Productions is looking for Mambo Nights Ambassadors to assist with transportation needs over Mambo Nights weekend, August 14 to 18, 2008.
With the largest group of international performers to date coming in for our Mambo Nights spectacular, we are in need of friendly, warm people with cars to help transport our performers from the Grape Bay Hotel to various locations around the island. Mambo Nights Ambassadors will receive a Mambo Nights T-Shirt and preferred seating at the Mambo Nights performance of their choice.

Youth Summer Performance Program
July 1 - August 14, 2008
Join us for a 6-week dance program which will take students on a journey through Latin Americas, while learning dance styles such as Merengue, Bachata, Cha-Cha and Salsa -culminating in an electrifying performance in SalsaMania's Mambo Nights: Bodies in Motion at the Fairmont Southampton, August 15 & 16, 2008.

This summer, as part of the Destination Dockyard entertainment series, the Sabor Dance School and SalsaMania Productions are expanding to provide more entertainment options for locals and visitors, at Bone Fish restaurant (formerly Pirate's Landing).
Every Monday evening, there will be a non-progressive beginners' Latin Variety Class, consisting of salsa, cha-cha- bachata, and merengue. After, dance the the night away under the stars until midnight on the terrance.
All students, instructors, visitors, dancers and non-dancers are invited! Come early for dinner, stay late to dance...
