Every Child Deserves a Fair Chance to Succeed!

Dear Fair Chance Community,

This year marks our 10-year anniversary, an important milestone and major accomplishment for Fair Chance. In 2002, the idea was born to create Fair Chance and develop affordable and accessible capacity building services for youth-serving nonprofits, East of the River. Amanda Marshall, our founder, went out into the community to build our first partnerships and find visionary leaders and programs working to make a difference in their neighborhood...(read Maria's letter here)

2011 Fair Chance Graduating Partners

2012 Graduation Ceremony

"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty."

-Maya Angelou

Fair Chance will celebrate the successful completion of our intensive first-year partnerships with eight DC nonprofit organizations. Throughout their partner year, Fair Chance supported these inspiring executive directors and board members to build stronger programs, revenue streams, and their organization itself. This event will mark each graduate's entry into Fair Chance's alumni network.

On March 14th, Fair Chance staff and graduates will commemorate this milestone along with community leaders, funders, supporters of our graduating organizations, and fellow Fair Chance alumni. The evening also allows us to celebrate our 2012 Community Champion, Melissa Hooks, Director, Justice Grants Administration in the Executive Office of the Mayor.

(Fair Chance will highlight all of our graduates in the weeks leading up to graduation on Facebook and Twitter)
