In other exciting news, we had an amazing turnout in applications this cycle. We have received an incredible 16 applications to choose from for our new class of partners starting this March. Our entire team is looking forward to a great year ahead!

"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty." -Maya Angelou Fair Chance will celebrate the successful completion of our intensive first-year partnerships with eight DC nonprofit organizations. During our year of working intimately with these organizations, we have had the privilege of being pillars of support for their growth, helping them through difficult times and staff transitions, and building lasting relationships with inspiring community leaders. This event will mark the graduates' entry into Fair Chance's extensive alumni network.
On March 17th, Fair Chance staff and our graduates will commemorate this milestone along with community leaders, funders, supporters of our graduating organizations, and fellow Fair Chance alumni. Our graduating partners are:

Mary Brown Wins Washingtonian of the Year Mary Brown, Fair Chance Alumni, Board Member, and Executive Director of Life Pieces to Masterpieces wins Washingtonian of the year at their Annual luncheon. Each year Washingtonian Magazine honors those who help the neediest among us, give at-risk youth a fighting chance, enrich our educational and cultural lives, and make Washington, DC a better place to live. We are very proud of Mary and the commitment she has made to changing the lives of boys and young men living in Ward 7 through Life Pieces to Masterpieces. In an effort to give back to Fair Chance and ensure her commitment to the children and youth of DC Mary Brown became a Fair Chance board member in 2009. After completing her partner year with us in 2005, she has remained actively involved in our alumni network; attending roundtables, executive director breakfasts, and Fair Chance events. What's Happening at Fair Chance Fair Chance is Hiring! Fair Chance is seeks an energetic, passionate part-time Development Associate to provide essential fundraising and communications support to the Development Director. The Development Associate is a key member of the Development Team and works closely with the Executive Director and Development Director to support organizational growth and ensure that fundraising goals are met or exceeded. Ideal candidates will have an outgoing personality, 1-2 years of development experience, a proven track record of success, familiarity with database and tracking tools and strong administrative and writing skills. This is a 20 hour a week position constituting four (4) hours a day in the office. Some flexibility in scheduling may be possible.
