Opening new projects should be fast and simple, not a detailed ordeal!

Workamajig increases productivity by speeding up the set-up of new projects, and maintaining greater consistency with similar project types. Using our project templates means relevant data can be copied straight into the new project. This can include:

• project type
• project team
• accounting settings, and most importantly
• the list of tasks (workflow/schedule).

There are also the options to copy over the:

• template estimates
  
• change orders, and
• any files  uploaded into the Digital Assets.
  

Then any adjustments can be made for minor differences; e.g. an additional task added. This keeps the project accurate without having to re-enter all the common data.
 
Healthier Scheduling:
A task list can be set up to show:

• each step of the project to be completed

• the order in which it occurs

• how long each step should take

• who is responsible for getting it accomplished

Our Gantt View in Flash shows the dependency relationship of tasks, created by predecessors in the schedule screen. In this Gantt View, you can adjust the planned start and planned complete dates of a task by drag and dropping the task to the correct date.
 
Workamaig allows you to specify which services a person performs in the company on their employee record.  When a person is added to a project, the system will automatically assign them to the services based on the ones you have set up on their employee record.  You can change these on each project.
 
If you would like the system to figure out who should work on which assignments, you can set up assignment types and specify which services are used on that type of assignment. The system will then look at each assignment, find its assignment type, then determine the list of services needed for that type of assignment, and find all the people who are performing that service on the project. Once the system creates the list of people needed, it will automatically assign them.

There are a number of master files that are required to be set up correctly for the allocation to. work, but it is well worth the initial effort.

Workamajig offers a brilliant option for file reviews and approvals. This function can be used to route files or web URLs to the project team members for their feedback. The reviewer can approve or reject the item and the system will store the results in the project. Files can be sent out to several contacts at once, or in a selected order that progresses only when each stage of the contact list approves.

An interactive diary adds notes related to the project so they are stored as part of the project's history. This can be made visible to the client - or not - and can be emailed to the project team members when saved.
