Greetings!

As we count down the last few weeks of our financial year (sorry, didn't mean to scare you!), we thought it was time to focus on your internal resources and make sure you are using our scheduling features to assist with work flow management.

When it comes to allocating work, finding the best fit means your creative team can be kept as fully and evenly occupied as the workload requires.

Getting the best out of your team:
When the availability of your people changes, and priorities change (always!),  the keys to reducing scheduling headaches are visibility and flexibility.

workamajig's
scheduling functions enable you to:
  • control which projects your team work on and when
  • add or remove specific people from a project
  • view an individual's schedule and workload
  • assign tasks to people and allocate the amount of work they receive on a day to day basis
  • anticipate and adjust for possible overload situations before they happen
  • review what is due for completion from anyone or everyone on any given day
  • run reports of project status and staff schedules
  • review assignments
Your team is aware of their daily and future assignments when they are allocated, and then access the relevant project info straight from their dashboards.

All time sheets can be pre-filled with the predicted time allocation - for quick timesheet completion -  and the hours entered then show as an actual time on the project schedule, for an accurate comparison of accumulating actual hours to estimated hours.

So, that just has to be a plus for you!

Reminders for an smarter financial year end:

Claim your Bad Debts as a deduction if:
  • they have been brought to account as assessable income
  • they are written off before the end of the financial year
  • you have given up all hope and action for recovery

Review your Assets Register
You can get a write off deduction for any fixed assets with a book value if they are assessed to have no real value.
This can include all assets bought, sold and disposed of during the year.
Special depreciation rules benefit a small business that is taxed under the STS regime.

Take Advantage of the Investment Allowance!
Place your orders for new capital assets by 30th June to qualify for a huge tax deduction for the capital cost of the asset. For the first year, depreciate your new assets by:
  •  65%  - if your turnover is less than $2M
  •  30%  - if your turnover is more than 2M
And for all you 'late adopters'  - sorry, this does not apply to software as it is deemed 'intangible'. We'll have to work on a version you can see and touch.  Maybe next year?

To confirm the upgraded features of each new version:

workamajig is a constant Work in Progress!

To all of our users who have passed on new contacts, much of our business comes from word of mouth referral, so thank you for recommending us.

As some of you have realised, it is often preferable to schedule new employees for a training session with a workamajig consultant. This means 'bad habits' are not passed on and the new user gets the most out of the system for their particular role.

If we can assist with any more information or training  with workamajig, please contact us to schedule a session.

Email all helpdesk queries to:

Please include as much detail as possible to enable a speedy response.

Sincerely,

About Us

Our director, Rondelle Taylor, has had ten years experience as the financial controller of a medium sized agency, handling a wide variety of project types and sizes.
Recognising the problems of not having an adequate system for project management and profit tracking, and the need for the integration of separate systems (excel, word, and myob etc.) led to the current consultancy role.
Maintaining a detailed analysis of available software solutions enables Software Downunder to recommend a system to best fit your needs.

AboutYou

You need the software solution that suits the size of your business and the complexity of your projects. If your projects are simple and you currently have less than 10 people handling them, your software requirements may be simple also. Speak to our consultants about alternative software packages for your best fit.
