Happy Fourth of July!

Parades and Ice Cream, Oh My!

YummmTo celebrate the festive weekend, children at DC General, NCFN and Turning Point ate delicious ice cream snacks donated by Jean Edelman and created red, white and blue art projects. A few aspiring ice cream creators even helped to mix the ingredients and shake the bags to make good old fashioned home-made ice cream at DC General!

Volunteers Revamp Turning Point Baby Room!

 TP Baby Room 2

On the weekend of June 24th, volunteers from Turning Point gave up their Sunday to re-locate the baby room. Their hard work brought a spacious, peaceful and developmentally stimulating playroom to 10 babies and toddlers who play there every Monday and Thursday night. Thanks to Lauren Rubenstein and friends for donating much needed items and to the volunteer leaders

DASH Playtime Program Moving to Thursday Nights!

Our newest program, Playtime at the District Alliance for Safe Housing's Cornerstone Building, is moving to Thursday nights next month. Now, Playtime can take place at the same time as parent meetings and support groups, provide additional relief for parents and joyful activities to children after school! We've got the playroom, and we've got the toys, now all we need is YOU! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at DASH on Thursday nights, please plan to attend our introductory training on July 26th, and email lana.hcpp@gmail.com for more information.

Volunteers Needed!

Help take the sting out of homelessness with playdough, basketballs, chalk and laughter! We are seeking dedicated and creative weekly volunteers to lead play programs Monday - Thursday nights from 6:30-8:30 pm.
