Protect Shelter Funding for Families!

The homeless services budget now faces a $20 million shortfall due to a loss of federal funds. This will mean 600 children and their families on the streets unless we step in!

Thank you to all of you who emailed your council members last week!  Here are three things you can do next week:

1.) Email the at-large D.C. Council members asking them to find funding to fill the $20.5 budget shortfall for homeless services and preserve the revenue enhancements in the budget to avoid more cuts (see box to right for all of the contact information)

2.) Participate in the "Call In Day" on Thursday, May 5th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. to ask the Councilmembers to save homeless services and preserve the revenue enhancements in the budget to avoid more cuts (for talking points, go here

3.) Sign up to join our "Lunchtime Lobbying" meetings with other Playtime volunteers (schedule below!)
