Fall Session - Are you ready for a fun and exciting new season of TAP HAPPINESS?! So are we! Classes begin Monday, September 14 and are filling up fast so be sure to register today. Click here to see the new fall schedule. Please be sure to look at the schedule carefully, there are some changes! (Also, remember that we no longer send this information out by snail-mail.)
 Summer Camp - We had such fun this summer! Our summer campers filled the studio with energy and enthusiasm as they took classes in tap, hip hop, jazz dance, and more. Their craft projects were amazing - and we thank Ms. Leanne and Ms. Shannon for all their enthusiasm and fun ideas. We've put several videos from the Friday, August 14 Camper Show up on our Facebook page (you don't have to be a member of Facebook to see the videos!).
 Welcome Courtenay! Please join us as we welcome back Ms. Courtenay Swinton to the Knock On Wood Family! Ms. Courtenay has assumed the position of Acting Studio Director since Ms. Yvonne's official retirement as Studio Director. Ms. Yvonne will still be around the studio often, both as a member of the tap faculty, as well as an Assistant Director of TWA. Ms. Courtenay is very excited to return to the team and looks forward to seeing each of you. So if you see her around the studio, be sure to say hello. Or you can send her a welcoming email.
 Welcome Leanne! We also want to welcome back Ms. Leanne. She returns not only as a member of our KOW tap faculty, but she is also joining our administrative staff as our new Coordinator of Children's Programs! In her new role, Ms. Leanne will help develop new offerings, and enhance current programs.

Tappers With Attitude is very pleased to announce that we have been named finalists for the 2009 Metro DC Dance Award for "Outstanding Youth Performance." A series of events will take place on Monday, September 14 at the Kennedy Center, including performances and award presentations. And for the first time, some of the festivities will be free, so we hope to see you there. Tap here for details.
We're looking forward to some terrific performances this season, starting with Wolf Trap's International Children's Festival, Saturday September 19. MS. YVONNE'S BIG BIRTHDAY BASH!

 It's a PARTY!! Celebrate Ms. Yvonne's 75th Birthday and Help Make the DC Tap Lady's "Wishes Come True!!"
The Tappers With Attitude/Knock On Wood Family invites you to celebrate the 75th birthday of our founder, Ms. Yvonne Edwards, at our "Tap Lady's Wishes Come True" fundraiser/party/ultimate jam session. Ms. Yvonne's birthday wish is for TWA, Inc. to live long and prosper, and your help can make this happen!
Please join us on Sunday, November 1, from 1 to 4 pm at Joe's Movement Emporium, 3309 Bunker Hill Road, Mount Rainier, MD.
We're asking for a minimum donation of $25 for adults and $15 for students. Because we are holding this event in lieu of our annual fall fundraising campaign, we also are hoping you can donate even more in honor of Ms. Yvonne's birthday wish.

 Knock On Wood and Tappers With Attitude are proud to announce that we have been selected to participate in Macy's 2009 Shop for a Cause event. Macy's Shop for a Cause provides you with an opportunity to support TWA, Inc. by purchasing a $5 Shopping Pass to use for exclusive savings in every Macy's store on Saturday October 17.
Here's how it works - when you purchase a ticket at KOW, you will be eligible for: 20% off everything you purchase at Macy's that day (some exclusions apply), 25% off one store-wide item, and a chance to win valuable prizes like a $500 Macys gift card! Tickets cost only $5 so you can save big on every purchase in the store while helping your favorite dance group. Remember - you only need one ticket to save all day in every way!! And TWA keeps 100% of the proceeds from all ticket sales!
But this fundraiser doesn't raise any money unless the tickets actually get sold, so please purchase your own tickets for Macy's Shop for a Cause, and encourage your friends and family to buy tickets for their own use.
It's a real "win/win," and we hope to sell all 200 of our ticket allotment from Macy's, which will mean a cool $1,000 for new programming and other things that benefit our nonprofit organization. Help us meet this goal!! Please stop at the front desk from September 1 through October 16 to purchase tickets for the event, which will be held Saturday, October 17 at all Macy's locations.
