On November 11, 2007, the Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation formally accepted a 1937 Richardson boat as a gift-in-kind from Bill and Mame Drackett. A gift-in-kind is valuable personal property given to Lakeside to enhance the Lakeside experience. The Foundation would like to publicly thank Bill and Mame Drackett for this historic masterpiece and generous gift. The boat will serve as the centerpiece of off-site restoration activities hosted by the Lakeside Wooden Boat Society (LWBS) in 2008.
An open house sponsored by the Lakeside Wooden Boat Society will feature the 32' Richardson on Saturday, November 24, 2007. Individuals can view the pre-restored Richardson, classic wooden boats and other rare Lymans at Classic Marine from 12 noon - 4 p.m. A special appearance by a Richardson historian will be made to offer advice on restoration.
