Fall Festival Recap
The unseasonably warm weather at Lakeside's 6th annual Fall Festival welcomed hundreds of guests to the grounds. In celebration of the season families decorated pumpkins, created crafts and enjoyed hayrides. The Lakeside Association would like to give special thanks to the volunteers that made this family event possible. Next year's Fall Festival will combine with the Marblehead Lighthouse Festival in Lakeside on Saturday, October 11, 2008. We look forward to celebrating with you next year.

| Lakeside Announces 2007 Essay Winner |
| The Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation sponsored an essay contest during the summer season that encouraged children from the ages of nine to 18 to celebrate the Lakeside experience. The topic was to write about the importance of Lakeside. Congratulations to Katie Cramer, the 2007 winner! The following is an excerpt from her winning essay.
"Every year as I go through the hustle and bustle of school, I seem to forget how lucky I am. I get caught up in silly things like homework, sports and friends. Then as June sneaks around the corner, I get even more excited because finally, I will get a break and come to Lakeside. My mind gets even more excited when I think about the lake that is awaiting, Patio donuts, Sloopy's pizza and a week-long break. At Lakeside, I get a glimpse of how the rest of the world could be. It's almost like God is telling me that I can give the world a piece of Lakeside through what I say and do."
