Greetings!

Happy Saturday! It's been another crazy and exhausting week at the rescue!

We have received donations of hay from Chris and Lesley, thank you ladies!!! We still need more hay;  its our biggest expense as we go through about 16 bales of hay each day to feed all of the rescue horses.  Additionally, we feed grain  and haystretcher for special feeding needs, like Bandito.

We have set up a hay fund specifically for hay and we have a link on the left for anyone who has extra hay that they would like to donate to us.

If you'd like to make a donation for hay, no amount is too small, just click the Network For Good button below and write "hay" in the designation box.

Have a fanastic week ahead,

Bandito getting groomed!
Bandito

Bandito is recovering and has gained about 20 lbs so far...his recovery is slow going but is steady.  He is still 335lbs underweight...and has a long road to go.

We are having a Bowling For Bandito Fundraiser - on Sunday,  April 25, 2010 in Timonium, MD all proceeds will go to Bandito's Fund to help with his recovery.  (click link for details)

The WLIF FM LITE 102  Friends & Neighbors Prize Van will be there to give away prizes!

He is shown here at Angel Acres being groomed by rescue volunteer, Hannah. The photo angle actually makes him look a lot better than he really is. His feet have been done (farrier says he has good feet) and he is recovering from  liver damage (verifed through blood work) caused by extreme starvation.

He will recover and become the amazingly gorgeous horse he once was. You can see what he looked like one month BEFORE being given away by clicking here ...we were shocked to see this picture and it really took us a few minutes to grasp that it was the SAME horse.

You can click the button below if you would like to donate to help sponsor Bandito's recovery.
