Thoroughbred Charities of America

Angel Acres is happy to announce that we are
the recipient of a grant from the Thoroughbred Charities of
America. In the past 19 years TCA has granted more than $16
million to over 200 organizations in 38 states. TCA is the largest
non profit organization in the thoroughbred industry.
TCA works year round to raise funds and awareness to assist
groups in 5 different areas of Thoroughbred activities including Rescue and
Retraining, Equine research, Therapeutic riding, Jockey and Backstretch programs
and Education and Scholarship programs.
A BIG THANK YOU TO TCA from all of us at Angel Acres...especially the velvet-nosed gang!

 Jessie, Bubby & Daisy!
Daisy Lynn is settling well into her new home with Jessie. Jessie adopted Bubby several months ago and all three are doing fabulous!
Big thanks to Jessie for giving two fantastically awesome horses a wonderful home!

Horses on the Hill

This past week, July 14th 2009, Jo & Fran went to DC to ask PA and MD legislators for their support on the anti-slaughter horse bills. We met many people from all over the country who were there to help America's horses.
Jill & Sally from Shiloh in NV, Cathy from Washington State, Sue from PA, Ann from Kingsville, MD and many, many more. Big thanks to AWI & HSUS for their wonderful, hard, painstaking work to help the horses and organizing the Horses on the Hill event.

 The Magic Begins...
The Angel Acres volunteers are diligently working on decorated horse shoes! They will be available at the Maryland State Fair, be sure to stop by and say hi, more info to come on dates, times, etc.
Our shoes will be available again this year, just in time for the holidays, in our online shoe store!
