FamilyAcceptFamily Acceptance Project seeks LGBT Youth for Interviews: $25 compensation
Are you a lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender youth?  Are you between the ages of 13 and 18?  Do you live in or around the Bay Area?  Would you like an opportunity to earn $25 for community participation?

If so, the Family Acceptance Project wants to hear your opinions about our research findings and how you think they may impact teens and their families.

To participate you must be willing to take part in an individual 60-90 minute interview at our Mission office (near BART).  You must be open to hearing more about our findings and be willing to share your feedback.  You will be given $20 cash for your time and $5 to cover your transportation costs.

DeStressDe Stress, Unwind, & Get Creative

Bring in any topic on your mind and Takeaway your own unique bracelets, earrings, necklaces, guitar pick jewelry, & explore other forms of artistic expression.

This is an 8 week course focusing on providing a support network and increasing self-esteem for teens through the use of shared experiences, development of coping skills and the use of art and jewelry making.

The group has the power over what topics are discussed and what form of art if any that they wish to explore during each session. The creative options include but are not limited to collage, jewelry making, hemp, painting, drawing and the groups own alternative choices will be considered as well.

Cost: $10 per session, materials will be provided
Where: CHAC, 711 Church St, Mountain View
Who: 8th - 12th grade girls

Come learn basic steps of a variety of dances from different cultures. Together, we will combine the art of movement with visual arts. (no skill required, beginners welcome!)

This is a chance for high school girls to feel empowered and free, to learn about one-another and from each other. Meets once a week for 5 weeks. Each meeting will involve some form of dance, art, lots of talking and fun! (This program is offered through CHAC.)

Time: Wed., 3:00-4:30pm (4/29-5/27)

Bus to Fresno, 1st Saturday after CA Supreme Court Ruling on Same Sex Marriage
There are 4 buses from across the state - headed to a statewide event, on the FIRST Saturday AFTER the Prop 8 verdicts are announced.  The buses are FREE for youth and the organizers of Meet in the Middle would be TOTALLY hip to the idea of them being completely full, as a youth party bus to Fresno, CA!!!

1. DUE APRIL 30: Tang Scholarship for LGBTQ Asian Pacific Islander Youth. Awards one outstanding student up to $15,000 renewable for a maximimum of three years.

2. DUE MAY 1: COLAGE Scholarship for children of LGBTQ Parents. Awards four $1,000 scholarships to college students demonstrating a commitment to effecting change in the LGBTQ community and community at large.

3. DUE MAY 30: APIQWTC Scholarship: (Asian Pacific Islander Queer Women & Transgender Coalition). $400 Scholarships will be awarded to two individuals. 

*NOTES:
The GALAA Scholarship is for Los Angeles residents and has been removed

Poor, brown and gay: Poetry makes Reyes' day, can it pay?
