Fawn is recovering in foster care!
Greetings!

We wanted to share the latest chapter in Fawn's road to recovery with you.  Fawn, a one year old German Shepherd mix, came to the Humane League after she was hit by a car and left on the side of the road. You helped us raise enough money to get Fawn the surgery she needed to repair her broken pelvis.

Now, Fawn is continuing to recover in her foster home with first time foster family, Maria and Ken. Maria shared the following update with our Foster Care Coordinator:

Fawn foster care"Fawn is adjusting well to being in our home. She had some issues with my husband. I can approach her crate, but she growls and snaps at him. When she is out of the crate she is fine and wags her tail and plays with him. Ken has been really working with her to get her over it. She gets several short walks a day. When she gets tired she lifts her injured leg and hops on three. I think she is doing well! I have attached some pictures for you."
Fawn foster 2Our foster care program is one of our many life saving initiatives.  In 2008, 665 animals were placed in foster homes. Without our foster care program, these animals would not have had the opportunity to later be adopted. If you would like more information about our foster care program, please visit http://www.humaneleague.com/foster.htm.  If you would like to make a donation to help support the foster care program, click here and select "Foster Care Program" from the "Designation" drop down menu. Our animals appreciate any gift, no matter how large or small!
