Greetings!
 Two weeks ago, Fawn
was lying on the side of Route 283, abandoned and in pain after being
hit by a car. After being found by a Good Samaritan, Fawn was taken to
Pet Emergency Treatment Services (PETS) where X-Rays revealed that she
had a badly broken pelvis. With no owner to claim her, Fawn was brought
to the Humane League. When Fawn arrived, she was unable to
walk or even stand on her own. Fawn needed surgery at an estimated cost of
$1400.00. With over 11,000 animals to care for each year, the League
appealed to the community for help with saving one dog out of many. Donations began coming in and Fawn had surgery last week. The
veterinarian used a plate and screws to set her breaks but she expects
Fawn to make a full recovery. In fact, Fawn is taking short walks on her own and would like to run and play if we would let
her!

Whether you are able to support the Humane League financially, or whether you are a volunteer, or whether you simply care about the animals of our community, Fawn owes her second chance to people such as yourself. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the local businesses listed on the left. Each business has recently partnered with the League in a way that helps us work to achieve our vision of "creating a humane community where all pets are protected and wanted" and we appreciate their support!

If you did not get a chance to donate to Fawn's surgery costs, you can still donate towards her care. She will need to remain in the care of the shelter for the next six weeks until she is completely healed and we will continue to incur expenses on her behalf. Simply click here to donate to Fawn and choose "Help Fawn Walk Again" from the drop down menu.
