De la Mano con America

To all of our wonderful guests:

Thank you so much for taking time from your precious lives to come and attend our Argentine Tango Event on July 28, 2007.  It was truly an honor and a pleasure to have spent an evening with all of you.  Even though we tried to plan the event well, the food, the service, and the physical arrangements were not delivered as promised to us and we are presently looking for a different location for our next event.

Ruben and I are really grateful to those of you who took the time to fill out the evaluation form.  We have carefully read your comments and suggestions and are taking them into consideration.  Your ideas will help us structure a quality event that you deserve.

Therefore, for the next event, which will take place in September, we are looking for a larger place to hold the event, with an adequate acoustical system, with quality food, and with great service.  We apologize from the bottom of our hearts for any inconvenience that you may have experienced on the night of the 28th.

Again, as per your suggestions, we will make sure the tables are arranged in a way that everyone can see the performance.  Also, we will not sell tickets for the raffle, instead, every guest will receive a ticket upon entering and this ticket will automatically be entered into the raffle.  We realize that walking around to sell tickets prevented some of you from enjoying the show.

Another suggestion which we will follow is to have dinner first, make sure the service is fast enough so that everyone is served in a timely manner, since, as you suggested, dinner traffic interferes with our view of the show.  We will have music over dinner.  Then, we will start with the show, which you suggested should be shorter in length.  We will certainly make sure that the show includes a lot of dancing performances with shorter singing performances.  Everyone seemed to like the lesson that followed as well as the fashion show.

I believe that we have captured the essence of your suggestions.  Your opinion is valuable to us and we were touched and impressed by the precision of your constructive comments.  Please feel free to email additional suggestions or comments.  We had brought a lot of pens to put on the table for the evaluation but forgot to place them on the tables.

Please be assured that our next event will be fantastic and that everyone will have a wonderful time.  We are trying to build a wonderful tango community and we appreciate your input into the development of our plans.  We are working on starting an internet radio program devoted to Tango which will be listened to through our website 24 hours a day, of which three hours will be live with audience participation, with one and a half hour in Spanish and one and a half hour in English.  The English portion will include some French to delight the listeners.  Future plans include decorating a large basement to make it look like Buenos Aires in order to have a place for milongas and Tango lessons.  Through the internet radio show, the audience will have the opportunity to belong to our tango club and thus be able to attend the milongas at a reduced price. We will be sending a check of $100.00 to NAMI Du Page, the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, which reflects one third of our profit for the night.

We need and welcome your help and your ideas to ensure that you receive the high quality of service that you all deserve.  Please continue to correspond with us at delamanoconamerica@yahoo.com.  Also, periodically check our website at www.dlmca.com or www.delamanoconamerica.com.  We are working on changing the website so that the listeners will be able to choose whether to navigate through it in English or Spanish.

Also, the language of the website will be changed to reflect the fact that the focus will be exclusively on tango from now on.  Please be patient as we are working as fast as possible to ensure that you will receive quality programming, quality events to attend to, and a quality place to have our milongas.  Please continue to write to us.  You are also welcome to call us at (708) 903-6612.  Looking forward to a long and pleasant relationship,
