Holiday message from ECA(SA) national director: operations
by Chris Greager, ECA

2011 has been the worst year as far as the shortage of work is concerned. Most ECA(SA) members have been affected. The construction industry was badly affected in 2010, and 2011 has been even worse. Many ECA members have little or no work, and there seems little prospect of the situation changing soon... (more)

Letter to the editor: energy
efficient lighting
by Howard Page, Magnitech

Millions of rand is being spent on the pursuit of more energy-efficient lighting, but it seems the rational step of determining what steps are required to achieve a certain light level, "snake oil salesmen" are selling clients a cure-for-all which is, in fact, pure illusion. Without a prescribed lux level, no rational comparison can be mades... (more)

Batteries "rescue" the fuel cell
