PRESENTERS AND CHAIRMAN / MODERATOR
The presenters at the panel discussion and debate are:
- Ismail Momoniat, deputy director-general: economic policy and international financial relations; and head: tax and financial sector policy, at the National Treasury of South Africa
- Mike Rossouw, director of Xstrata, chairman of the Industry Task Team on Climate Change, and chaiman of the Department of Energy Technical Task Team for IRP 2010 - 2030
- Prof. Philip Lloyd, energy expert at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, and author of the paper "The case against a carbon tax for South Africa".
- Johan van den Berg, lawyer and advocate, CEO of SA Wind Energy Association (SAWEA), expert on carbon finance, carbon trading and Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)
- Chaya Lakhani, partner and director at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), specialist in indirect tax, and leader in PwC's initiatives in environmental taxes
Each presenter will speak for 15 minutes, followed by 60 minutes of Q & A and open discussion from the floor, and between presenters.The chairman and moderator for the panel discussion and debate will be Chris Yelland, managing director at EE Publishers.
