Now, more than ever, South Africa needs well-informed, proactive and inspirational leadership, and SANEA believes these issues justify holding this Action for Energy event.   With this in mind, SANEA has designed a one-day programme to address these issues facing energy leaders today, with a series of presentations and an open panel discussion to ensure that the audience is brought up to date with the latest thinking. Delegate numbers are restricted to 100 to enable effective audience interaction, networking and information exchange.   PROGRAMME   07h45 - 08h30: Registration 08h30 - 08h45: Welcome, by Brian Statham, chairman of SANEA 08h45 - 09h45: Medium term risk mitigation strategy explained, by Kannan Lakmeeharan, Eskom 09h45 - 10h30: Electricity security - a business imperative: Medium term outlook, price trajectory and response to climate change, by Mike Rossouw, EIUG / Xstrata 10h30 - 11h00: Morning tea and refreshments 11h00 - 12h00: Eskom's plant performance and maintenance - are we winning the battle? by Thava Govender, Eskom 12h00 - 12h45: Investor confidence and economic consequences of policy changes: climate change, carbon tax, rising electricity prices, ISMO and MTRMP, by Paul Eardley-Taylor, Standard Bank 12h45 - 13h45: Lunch 13h45 - 15h15: Panel discussion to explore the issues and find common ground, facilitated by Brian Statham, with Mike Rossouw, Thomas Garner, Piet van Staden, Marc Goldstein, Thava Govender 15h15 - 15h30: Afternoon tea break 15h30 - 16h15: Summation, by Kevin Morgan, BHP Billiton 16h15 - 16h30: Closing, by Brian Statham, chairman of SANEA 16h30 - 18h00: Cocktail party and networking   COSTS   Before 30 Sept 2011: SANEA members: R2000; Non-members: R2500 From 1 Oct 2011: SANEA members: R2500; Non-members: R3000   CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD)   This event has been validated by the SAIEE for one CPD credit in terms of the ECSA CPD policy.   REGISTRATION AND FURTHER INFORMATION   Click here to register on-line Click here for registration form Click here to visit the conference web page    For further information contact: Sarita Cronjé, marketing manager, SANEA Tel: 012 346-6004; Cell: 083 325-6716; Fax: 086 611-5942 E-mail: saritac@mweb.co.za; Website: www.sanea.org.za |
