For those who attended the open panel discussion and debate, we hope this proved meaningful and valuable in increasing understanding of what is happening in respect of progress in the implementation of the renewable energy plans of IRP 2010 - 2030. 
   
PRESENTERS   
The presenters at the panel discussion and debate were: 
- Ompi Aphane, deputy director general at the Department of Energy responsible for electricity, nuclear and renewable energy 
 - Thembani Bukula, regulator board member responsible for electricity, National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) 
 - Brigette Baillie, partner and head of the project development and finance practice, Webber Wentzel 
 - Paul Eardley-Taylor, head of investment banking coverage for the energy, utilities & infrastructure sector, Standard Bank 
 - Johan van den Berg, chief executive officer of the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA)  
 
  
OUTCOMES 
  
After the open panel discussion and debate, the following motion was passed with an overwheming majority: 
  
"This house notes the ambitious renewable energy targets of the IRP 2010 - 2030 plan, and urges the Department of Energy to get on with implementation thereof without further policy changes and delays."
