On behalf of the South African National Energy Association (SANEA), you are invited to attend an early evening lecture, entitled: ENERGY PREPAREDNESS FOR THE 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP
Come and join the energy professionals at SANEA for an evening of provocation and challenge, to learn more about energy options for South Africa, debate the issues, and get some answers! Refreshments and snacks will be served before and after the lecture (courtesy Eskom), and there is ample opportunity for networking with friends, colleagues and energy professionals.
SYNOPSIS With the exception of the first democratic election in South Africa in 1994, the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa is arguably the most important event in the evolving history of South Africa. Whereas it has been termed an African World Cup, the spotlight will undoubtedly be on South Africa to deliver a successful event that will position the nation, shape perceptions about the continent and provide a springboard for the future. Eskom will play a vital role as part of the 2010 team by "powering South Africa" through a successful event. The presentation will focus on Eskom's 2010 Project, and specifically: the size and magnitude of the event; an Eskom view of 2010 electricity considerations; progress to date; and the final steps to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
